Home made suet for the birds

I meant to post this before but kept putting it off.  I used to buy suet blocks for the birds then experimented with making suet the long way by melting down beef fat and adding ingredients. I still make suet long way when I have the time, but came up with some quick recipes, which work as well.

Here is a recipe that I use in whipping up a quick batch of suet that has proven to be quite popular for my backyard birds. The best part, is no worries about measuring, just guesstimate :) 

• Peanut butter (crunchy)
• Chopped up nuts
• Corn Meal
• Extras: chopped up raisins, dried fruits, sunflower seeds and sunflower hearts
