Today's Photo - Flock of Shorebirds...

Is there anything better than a flock of shorebirds in flight? This group of shorebirds seen with Tom Burke, Gail Benson and Mary Normandy yesterday on Long Island had me longing for shorebird season. This is not a quiz, but I would encourage readers, especially the shorebird aficionados to take a crack at identifying the species in the photo.

I counted them and ID them all! I wont give it away though. I did see a rare bird or two in there. :)

@Dawn - very nice work! Thanks for taking a look, you are officially a shorebird aficionado ;)

Interesting you mentioned a "rare bird or two", I am curious to learn what you came up with :)

It is great to know there are still flocks out there..whatever they may be..How did Dawn get a big enough picture to view I wonder? Time to upgrade my computer perhaps..

@Cindy - there is a good chance that Dawn saved the image on her computer, then used an image software program to blow up the image. It will be pixelated, but the viewer gets to see the birds in a larger view. There, now take a crack ;)

I put the photo thru my bird ID app. It did all the work ;)
