Usually on "Wordless Wednesday" submissions are posted without any supporting text. However, with today's images, I feel I need to encourage my readers to really look closely at this bird and try to figure out the ID. Some of you may find it easy, but others may not. I suggest you take a shot before taking a look at your field guide. Note: don't try to figure it out by sneaking a look at the image name because I have not made it obvious :)

As an unfamiliar species, I will blindly guess grouse. For some reason, they have been stuck in my head.
I think it is a Red Knot, and definitely a Semipalmated Plover, very nice photo!
Red Knot?
I'm not overly familiar with US birds, but that's a Knot... probably Great?
@prairiebirder @John @campsiebirder - you guys were on target. The bird is a juvenile Red Knot. This is not one we get so see often as we mostly see breeding or winter plumaged birds.
@Shockgrubz - nice try. Have you seen Grouse recently? If so what species?
Lovely images!!
