Shorebird Conservation...

Here we are as birders vying for looks at shorebirds all through their migratory period. In NYC, during the shorebird season birders anxiously await any breaking reports of any shorebird rarities at Jamaica Bay. Yet, in some countries, these same birds are hunted, with thousands killed every year. Yep, no need to rub your eyes, "Hunted". In a country notorious for this activity a small step in the right direction was taken with BirdLife International leading the way with support from local conservationists and ex hunters.
