@Cindy - I do take Wordless Wednesday seriously, where I try and force my readers to pickup that field guide and figure out what species they are looking at.
In this case, you are right and I hesitated on whether I should name the bird or not. In the words of my friend "Rich Kelly", ain't I a stinker :P Anyway, it is a Pale-billed Woodpecker.
My sister will be honeymooning in Costa Rica this summer. Can you recommend a good bird guide for the area?
